7 PM August 25, 2015, Wherspann Lake NRD Building, Omaha

The August TU710 meeting will be held at our usual meeting location at Wehrspan Lake in southwest Omaha. We will be meeting on the main level of the NRD building in the smaller conference room.

Our meeting starts at 7:00 pm.

We have various items of business to discuss, including the formation of a nominating committee to recruit candidates for election of officers and at least two board positions.  If you would like to be considered for a slot or just want to serve on such a committee please let me know.  The nominees will be publicized to the membership well before the meeting in October, when the election will take place, and we will also take nominations from the floor at that meeting.  If serving as a board member seems like too much responsibility there are various nonboard committees that could use your assistance (e.g. education, Healing Waters, conservation, etc.). We have a number of interesting projects going on or in the works and the more people involved, the more fun they are.

We will also discuss plans for our September 22 membership meeting in Lincoln.  At that meeting Mark Porath, of Nebraska Game and Parks will give a presentation about their New Cold Water Fisheries program that he and his colleagues have put together, and about a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust that is helping to get that program off the ground.  We will likely have that meeting at the new NG&P Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln, but stay tuned for additional information about the venue.
